Magazine

      This invention provides a conceptual design for an optical disk
changer which loader has a plurality of loading ports.

The design of this invention, as illustrated in Fig. 1, comprises:
  o  A loader 1 which comprises a plurality of receiving slots 2 to
     receive the stack magazine 3, containing several single media
     units 4, from the picker 5 which handles the stack magazines 3
     between the storage receptacle 6 and the loader 1.  Each
     receiving slots 2 has an opening 7 to provide access for the
     drive 8 to reach the media unit inserted in the loader, a
catcher
     9 to latch to a media unit contained at a position in the stack
     magazine designated for said receiving slot.  If the stack
     magazine 3 contains n number of media units, then the loader has
     n number of receiving slots, each slot is designated for each
     specific media unit position in the stack magazine, therefore,
     the catcher 9 of receiving slot can only latch to the media unit
     located at its designated stack magazine position,
  o  A drive transporting means 10 to bring the drive 8 to the loaded
     media unit 4 through the openings 7.

      OPERATING PROCEDURE: To load a specific media unit into the
drive, the picker 5 inserts the stack magazine containing said media
unit into the receiving slot designated for said media unit position
in the stack magazine, the catcher 9 latches to said media unit and
retains it in the receivin...
