Abstract

Disclosed is a system for warehouse management with monitoring location of goods by using video cameras attached on ceiling and ID tags stuck on goods. This system always monitors current location of goods, change of their location, store and shipping of goods by detecting tags on goods. The latest location and other information of goods is stored on the database. Warehouse keeper can know current location of goods to be shipped from the database.

Warehouse Management System with Monitoring Location of Goods

      Disclosed is a system for warehouse management with monitoring
location of goods by using video cameras attached on ceiling and ID
tags stuck on goods.  This system always monitors current location of
goods, change of their location, store and shipping of goods by
detecting tags on goods.  The latest location and other information
of goods is stored on the database.  Warehouse keeper can know
current location of goods to be shipped from the database.

      The Figure shows the configuration of this system.  The ID
tag(1) has a unique pattern that represents a identification number.
User sticks a printed ID tag on goods(2) and inputs other information
of goods to the database(6) when the goods is stored.  Video
cameras(3) take image of stock area continuously.  The image
processor(4) recognizes ID tags in the image, gets position of ID
tags, and converts each pattern to identification number.  Stock
manager(5) updates goods' location and stacking information in stock
database(6), judging move or stacking of goods from previous data and
current data of ID tags that is sent from image processor.
Terminal(7) displays map of stock area and location of goods that is
queried by user.

      Any symbol pattern and its detector are applicable for ID tag
and camera, as long as they provide position and identification
