Rack and Panel Connector Boot with Floating Thumbscrews

A connector boot with floating thumbscrews is disclosed.  The
boot can be designed to fit any of the industry standard rack and
panel mount connector insulator blocks, such as the 34 position V.35
connector.

As shown in the Figure, the plastic boot (1) has thumbscrews
(2) that slide back out of the way (or float inside the boot),
allowing a mating connector to engage fully before any thumbscrew
retention is applied.

The plastic boot (1) consists of the industry standard rack and
panel connector block (3); four block retention screws (5); two
thumbscrews (2); connector pins or receptacle contacts (4).
