Abstract

Disclosed is an Intelligent Showcase which detects the increase and/or decrease of the commodities on its showcase by a sensor and transmit the data, i.e., Name, Price and Quantity, to the handy terminal which is kept by the user or consumer. This Showcase system can be effect on the retail sales of General merchandise and/or Convenience store by the following: o Reduce and speed up the operation work at the POS register counter by transmitting the several commodity data to Consumer's handy terminal o Eliminate the stocktaking by sending the status of the stock, and real-time information helps the observation of the stock. o Reduce the work to replace the nameplate for changing the price or commodity name by integrating an electric display.

Intelligent Showcase System for Retail Sales

Disclosed is an Intelligent Showcase which detects the increase
and/or decrease of the commodities on its showcase by a sensor and
transmit the data, i.e., Name, Price and Quantity, to the handy
terminal which is kept by the user or consumer.  This Showcase system
can be effect on the retail sales of General merchandise and/or
Convenience store by the following:
o  Reduce and speed up the operation work at the POS register
counter by transmitting the several commodity data to
Consumer's
      handy terminal
o  Eliminate the stocktaking by sending the status of the stock,
and
real-time information helps the observation of the stock.
o  Reduce the work to replace the nameplate for changing the price
or commodity name by integrating an electric display.

The system is structured by Communication Device(A), Mechanical
or Electrical sensor(s) for detecting the increase and/or decrease of
the commodity(B), Memory for storing several commodity data e.g.,
Price, Quantity, and Items for sales(C), Electric nameplate indicator
and/or Voice generator(D), and these processor(E) (Figure).
 The operation is:
 1.  When the consumer pick the commodity up from the showcase, it is
detected by the sensors(B).  The sensor(s) may be either the
electrical, mechanical, or optical.  Then the processor(E)
converts the signal from the sensors(B) to the corresponded
data,
e.g., Item code, Price, and Quantity, and transmits its data to
the consumer's handy terminal through the communication
device(A).  The consumer's handy terminal is organized by  a
      communication device, storage an...
