Dynamically Created Workbooks

A method for dynamically constructing dialog hierarchies based
upon end-user specification is disclosed.

A statically defined dialog hierarchy, as demonstrated in Fig.
1, presents the full functionality of an application program to the
end-user.  Such hierarchies often provide far more functionality than
is necessary for the end-user to complete a given task.

The addition of a selection dialog, as demonstrated in Fig. 2,
enables the end-user to tailor the amount of functionality provided
by the application.  The end-user selects the required functionality,
and the application retains the selections in a profile or other form
of persistent store.  The application can then recall the selections
and dynamically construct the dialog hierarchy, as demonstrated in
Fig. 3.

The dynamically constructed dialog hierarchy, or workbook,
provides the end-user with the application functionality required to
complete a given task.
