Disclosed is a method to reduce magnetic noise from Stator core in the micro precision Spindle motor used for Hard Disk Drives. The following design of Flange part made of Aluminum die casting can shield reading-gap from magnetic noise radiation without the change of the motor IC driver and the magnetic circuit.

Simple Method for Magnetic Noise Reduction

      Disclosed is a method to reduce magnetic noise from Stator core
in the micro precision Spindle motor used for Hard Disk Drives.  The
following design of Flange part made of Aluminum die casting can
shield reading-gap from magnetic noise radiation without the change
of the motor IC driver and the magnetic circuit.

      Fig. 1 shows a cross-sectional view of the conventional Spindle
motor design.  Fig. 2 shows a cross-sectional view of this new
design.  In case of new design, the wall 1 between Data zone 2 of
disks and the magnetic circuit 3 is provided for decreasing the
magnetic harmful infulence from the magteic circuit 3.  This wall 1
can effectively reduce the magnetic field on the disks caused from
the megnetic circuit 3, then the read/write operation can be
improved.

      By this new design, any additional parts such as a permalloy
seal is not required, so any additional cost is not required.
