Technique for Cleaning Touch-Sensitive Computer Displays

Disclosed is a method that allows users to clean a
touch-sensitive computer display without causing accidental touch
activations.

The computer display includes a touch area labeled "Clean
Display".  When this area is touched, the computer display blanks out
except for one instruction and two labeled touch areas.  The
instruction says, "To turn on the display, touch both buttons at the
same time."  The touch areas are relatively small and appear on
opposite sides of the computer display.  This separation reduces the
likelihood that the touch areas are touched simultaneously.

When the user is done cleaning the display, the user touches
both touch areas simultaneously.  The insturction and two labeled
areas disappear, the original screen returns, and the touch function
is activated.
