Architecture for a Graphic Software Install Assistant Interface

Disclosed is the general structure for a graphical user
interface application to support the installation and configuration
of the AIX* operating system that is composed of a standard set of
building blocks.  This visual structure may be used by any system
administrator or user to install and configure the fundamental
aspects of the AIX operating system.

This architecture is a unique integration of Visual Systems
Management applications along with assistance in how to perform the
tasks necessary to configure an AIX system.  This architecture
utilizes an existing tool: HP VUE Helpview** in a unique way.
Helpview is a hypertext information tool that provides links between
related assistance information and related configuration tasks.

Traditional hypertext tools provided an independent information
source or support information for a peer application.  When
information is needed, you call upon the hypertext tool and then
return to whatever task you were performing.  This architecture
provides more than just a container for applications or a container
for information.  Instead, the configuration tasks are integrated
with the information needed to decide if a task is needed; how to
perform the task; and launching the actual task.

The benefit of this architecture is its unique integration of
applications that allow a new user to quickly install and configure
