Dross Free Wave Solder System

      Solder Dross can be eliminated from a wave soldering operation
via the mechanism shown in the accompanying cross sectional
illustrations of the solder module of a wave soldering system.

      Molten Solder (1) covered by heat transfer fluid/flux (2) is
contained in solder pot (3).  Heat transfer fluid/flux containment
device (4) rests on solder nozzle (5).  Product bearing pallet (6)
with product bottom surface (7) approaches the solder module and
activates the solder wave (8).  Heat transfer fluid/flux containment
device (4) maintains X-Y location by containment pins (9).  Leading
face of pallet (10) engages face (11) of heat transfer fluid/flux
containment device (4) permitting pallet (6) to pass through solder
wave (8).  When pallet (6) disengages heat transfer fluid/flux
containment device (4) it deactivates the solder wave (8) permitting
the system to reset itself, prepared for the next pallet.
