Network Printing System

Disclosed is a network printing system to obtain printer output
on a desired physical printer, even if the printer can't interpret
the data stream, using generated image at the different printer which
can interpret it on the network.

The Figure shows the example of this system.  The host computer
(1) sends the print data to the printer (2) to get the printer output
on the printer (2).  But since the printer (2) cannot interpret the
data stream which was sent from the host computer (1), the printer
(2) cannot print it directly.  The printer (2) queries to the other
printers on the network and finds out the printer which can interpret
that data stream.  In this case, the printer (2) finds out the
printer (3) for that purpose.

The printer (2) transfers the data to the printer (3) and the
printer (3) receives this data and interpret it, then send back the
generated images to the printer (2).

The printer (2) receives these images and print them.  The end
user on the computer (1) can get the printer output on the printer
(2) although the printer (2) doesn't have a capability to handle that
data stream.

The printer (3) can be replaced by a PC or a workstation (4)
and on it many kinds of printer data stream interpreters can be run
like a printer data stream server.  In this case, since interpreters
are programs running on a PC or a workstation, it is pretty easy to
add another interpreter or to upda...
