Interconnection Method for Two Power Supply Modules

      Described is a hardware implementation using a single safety
cover which allows a safe VAC connection between two VAC input power
supply modules.  The described implementation maintains product
safety when either one or both of the power modules are present.

In the Figures, the VAC cable, VAC connector, and the second module
are not shown.

      Fig. 1 shows the single module case.  In this case, the safety
cover 10 is placed on the base unit 40 as shown.  Once the cover 10
is in place, it is moved to the left to lock and secured with a
fastener.  With the cover 10 in place, the opening 30 for the VAC
connection to the second module and the VAC cable channel 20 is
covered and the assembly is safe for handling.

      Fig. 2 shows the dual module case.  In this case, the VAC
connection is made, the cover 10 is rotated 180 degrees and placed
back
on the base unit 40.  With the cover 10 in place, it is moved to the
right to lock in place.  With the cover 10 in place, the opening 30
for the VAC cable is open, the VAC cable channel 20 is covered, and
the two units remain safe after they are secured together.
