Impact Duration Control on Receipt/Journal Printer

      Disclosed is a method to get a suitable head impact force for
each receipt station and slip station of POS printer.  Changing a
pulse width of wire firing give a proper head impact force.

      POS printers provide function of printing on multiple parts
forms for slips and single part roll paper for receipt.  Slip
printing operation requires relatively stronger impact force to give
each layer of paper a good printing quality.

      On the other hand, excessive impact force while printing on
single parts roll paper wears away print heads and shorten head life.
Switching impact force satisfy above opposed requirements.  Changing
pulse width of wire firing is employed to switch impact force.
