Conductive Corrosion Preventive Treatment on Magnesium Alloy

      This article describes corrosion preventive treatment which can
be particularly applied on Magnesium alloy securing electrical
conductive property.

      The subject corrosion preventive treatment gives the Magnesium
parts necessary and sufficient corrosion resistance for office
environment use of computer products.  This treatment also gives the
Magnesium parts electrical conductivity which is necessary in case
electromagnetic interference shielding is required.  To get both
properties at once, chromic acid bath, phosphoric acid bath and/or
bichromic acid bath can be used in both electrolytic and
non-electrolytic formation process.

      The advantage of this corrosion prevention is to eliminate any
other additional process to make electrical contact points on
Magnesium parts.
