Mounting Assembly to Attach Covers onto Racks

A method of quick removal of covers is disclosed.  The
described "Mounting Assembly" below replaces the conventional method
of mounting/removing covers (screw-on type, using screws of various
types to bolt/fasten covers onto a rack).

This mounting assembly consists of a Spring Catch, two Pem Nuts
and a Base Shell which makes up the complete unit.  This unit is
mounted onto a rack (type of rack that is used to house drive
assemblies that makes up a machine frame with covers attached to
enclose the front opening), utilizing the existing locating/mounting
holes, to a desired height/position.  In addition to this mounting
assembly, Ball Studs are installed onto the cover, which allows the
cover to snap-on to the spring catches, thus providing instant
mounting and removal of the cover.

In situations when cover(s) must be removed each time the
drive unit is serviced, this latch-on method (using the above
mentioned
mounting assembly) is the only feasible, practical and cost-effective
way to install and remove covers from control/drive units.
