Abstract

Disclosed is a construction apparatus by using swaging method of fixing leaf springs to galvano mirror, which is the actuator to track the data tracks of magneto optical disk by tilting the mirror. With this method, as the strain for the springs are small, the effect of resonance can be minimized. At the same time, the precise placement of the spring can be achievable.

Galvano Spring Swaging for Magneto-Optical Disk Drive

      Disclosed is a construction apparatus by using swaging method
of fixing leaf springs to galvano mirror, which is the actuator to
track the data tracks of magneto optical disk by tilting the mirror.
With this method, as the strain for the springs are small, the effect
of resonance can be minimized.  At the same time, the precise
placement of the spring can be achievable.

      Fig. 1 shows the example of this apparatus.  Leaf spring (2) is
mounted to fixed-part (1) and moving-part(4) by swage-rivets (3).
Fig. 2 shows detail cross section of swaging.  Spring is mounted to
the fixed-part or moving-part (5).  Then swage-rivet (6) is inserted
through spring (7) to the fixed-part or moving-part (5).  Then iron
ball(8) is inserted by press tool and goes through.  As a result of
this operation, swage-rivet (6) deforms and fixes the spring (7).

      This apparatus can be applicable for the equipments as scanners
or projectors which has galvano mirror.
