Transistor / Liquid Crystal Display

      Disclosed is a driving method of a signal driver (source
driver) for a Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display (TFT/LCD).

      Fig. 1 (a) shows new signal driver waveforms.  Fig. 2 (a) shows
conventional signal driver waveforms.  Fig. 1 (b) and Fig. 1 (c) are
the timing charts of signal driver (Vsig), gate driver (Vgate) and
common plate (Vcom) at plus-charging phase and minus-charging phase
respectively.  Figs. 2 (b) and (c) show conventional method It is
effective to drive TFT/LCD pixel with the sequence of (1) Vgate to go
high, then (2) Vsig and Vcom changes those states.  It enables
reduction of the driving time, and it is effective for high
resolution TFT/LCD which driving time is short.

      Fig. 3 shows driving characteristics of the 2 pre-charge
driving method and conventional driving method.  The driving
characteristics of the 2 pre-charge driving method are better than
those of the conventional driving method.
