      This article describes the control method of Logical Zone (LZ)
data compression algorithm for Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and

File (SSF) by allocating the table area into the sector buffer.

      The table area for the LZ data compression algorithm requires
512 bytes X 2 RAM area when implemented to HDD and SSF which gates
the LSI integration.  This article proposes to use the sector buffer
in HDD and SSF as an table area.

The Figure shows the block diagram of this method.

      The memory control for the data compression and decompression
is handled by the Hard disk controller which does not affect the any
operation of the others.

      The integration of the hard disk controller and the
compression/ decompression logics becomes feasible by this method.
