Abstract

This article presents a system and method to enable online trading in online games. It builds a connection between online game operatoers and online business trader through integrating game logic and business service processes. In such a system, users can perform real business activities in a virtual world. It can benefit game operators by providing a new busisness model, benefit online traders by creating a new channel to customers, and benefit end users with improved experience and convenience.

Currently people perform online trading mainly in websites such as amazon, ebay. We claim that online game will be a novel media for online deal. As computer game has evolved from single player game without connection to multiplayer (even massive multiplayer) game with connection, gamers in online game are able to communicate with each other. In this sense, a networked game is an virtual society in which online trading can be enabled.

Actually, gamers make some purchase in existing games. However, these purchases are only about in-game items such as weapons, herbs and magic scrolls that is for game characters. Our invention is to extend such "virtual goods" trading in online society to real world.
