Break-Away Rail Key for Data Processor Book Package

A method for keying data processor book packages is disclosed.

Fig. 1 shows a book package cover.  The rails shown may be used
to key the book package when installed into a data processor logic
cage.  Keying prevents a book (with an electronics card) from being
installed into a slot that may cause electrical or mechanical damage
to the card or system unit.

One implementation of the keying system is to use a short rail
and a long rail with corresponding features in the logic cage.  The
concept disclosed here is to mold in the features as shown in Fig. 2
to break the rail away in manufacturing.  This allows a single part
number cover to be stocked in manufacturing that provides multiple
keying combinations.

Fig. 3 shows the feature after breaking.
