Driving Method of Thin Film Transistor/Liquid Crystal Display

       Disclosed is a driving method of a gray scale driver
integrated circuit (IC) for a large-size and high-resolution Thin
Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display (TFT/LCD).

       Fig. 1 shows an output signal waveform of driver IC.  This
driver IC has pre-charge time, and its output voltage is fixed during
that period.

       Fig. 2 shows a driving method for a large-size high-resolution
TFT/LCD which is called Gate-over-lap-scan driving.  As the Gate
pulse is opened 2nd time, it enables scanning time to be increased.

       Fig. 3 shows the new Gate-over-lap-scan driving method with
driver IC which has voltage fixed time.  Gate voltages become
high-level when the pre-charge time is ended.  Figs. 4 and 5 show a
driving characteristic of the driving methods.  The driving
characteristics of new Gate-over-lap scan driving method achieve good
driving characteristics.
