Automatic Shipping Machine Capable of Automatic Label Generation
with Scale, Charge Card Reader, and Data Upload Facility to Shipping
Companies

This invention consists of a kiosk shipping system, whereby the
customer may place an item to be shipped on the invention and input
data into the machine, either through keyboard entry, touch screen
entry, or voice recognition software, to state where the item is to
be shipped.

The Automatic Shipping Machine (ASM) weighs the item to be
shipped, and calculates the shipping charges for the subscribing
shipping companies, displays the options available from these
shipping companies to the customer (charges, delivery time options).
The ASM may optionally print out the shipping label.  Payment from
the customer is read in from the customers credit card and directly
billable to the charge card company.

The ASM, upon completion of the transaction with the customer,
uplinks the shipping data to the shipping company.  The shipping
company now has a strong advantage in knowing what shipments are
committed that night and can more effectively plan that evenings
shipping scheduling.

The ASM may be located nearly anywhere, similar to an Automated
Teller Machine used in the banking industry.
