Special One Disk Hard Disk Drive using Magneto-Resistive Head Technology

      Disclosed is a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) which is designed
specially for using only one disk in a standard disk drive form
factor and uses Magneto-Resistive (MR) head technology to have enough
storage capacity.

      Fig. 1 shows conventional HDDs which are used as two disks
version and one disk version (de-populated).  Fig. 2 shows the one
disk oriented design.

      For low end personal computer user the storage capacity of its
HDD is big enough in case of using MR head technology even if only
one disk is used for the HDD.  There is a standard of the HDD form
factor.  Using only one disk in a standard form factor makes it easy
to design the HDD in a better cost performance.  Following are
benefits of this disclosure:
  o  Low inertia actuator system
  o  Low power Voice Coil Motor (VCM) system
  o  Low power spindle motor
  o  High rigidity spindle motor
