Sealing Method Without Using Adhesive Tape

      Disclosed is a cover and seal assembly method used in a hard
disk drive.  They are assembled without using adhesive tape to set
two parts together.  The cover has a slot to hold the seal.

The Figure shows this cover and seal design.  The features of this
design are as follows:
  1.  The cover is made by the sheet metal and has side walls around
       the outline which has some slots.
  2.  The seal has projections for each slots on the cover.
  3.  The height of the cover slot is smaller than the seal thickness
       in order to hold the seal tightly.

The following are the merits of this application:
  o  No adhesive tape contribute to the low parts cost.
  o  No adhesive tape make it possible to reuse the cover because the
      cover itself is washable without the seal.
  o  Side wall on the cover prevents protrusion of the seal out of
the
      hard disk drive outline.
  o  Side wall is effective for the external noise.
