Head Loading Mechanism using Head Separator with Ramp Function

      Disclosed is a head loading mechanism during a hard disk drive
assembly which uses a ramp loading mechanism by using the head
separator which has a taper for the ramp loading.

      The Figure shows the head separator design and the ramp loading
mechanism using this separator.  The head separator is used during
the assembly process to keep heads facing each other apart.
Generally in a head-loading process, this separator is replaced by
the specially designed machine to prepare for the head loading.  But
in case of having the head loading mechanism on the head separator by
itself, it is possible to do the head loading without using any
special tool.  This separator has a taper for the ramp loading on the
front end.  The head loading process is as follows:
  1.  Set the head separator with ramp to the actuator assembly.
  2.  Set the actator assembly, the spindle motor and the disk
together
       on the base.
  3.  Rotate the actuator with the separator near the disk edge.
  4.  Fix the separator by some tools.
  5.  Continue to rotate the actuator.
  6.  Then, the head slides down to the disk surface along the taper
on
       the separator.
  7.  The head is loaded on the disk.
