Visually Associating Independent Invocations of an Application

A method for visually identifying multiple instances of
applications is disclosed.  The windows associated with different
invocations of an application are arranged in a cascaded fashion.

A counter is established for each application and maintained by
the operating system.  Upon invocation of an application, the counter
is incremented and its value is displayed (if configured) within the
title bar area for the window displaying the application or
application data.

The application organize option will arrange each window
associated with the application (generally separate invocations).
This is done in a cascaded fashion such that the highest ordinal
invocation is presented in the foreground with all other invocations
displayed behind it as shown in the Figure.  The desktop organize
option will organize each application on the desktop as described for
the application organize option.
