Abstract

Disclosed is a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) backlight which becomes more reliable by changing the design of lamp socket. The Figure shows the example of this new lamp socket. Return cable (Low voltage) side of the lamp socket is made of silicone. The new design lamp socket looks "T" character, and it has a silicone stopper to the backlight housing. Also, the return cable is designed to the right angle from the straight. Then, the fluorescent lamp location is stabilized, and the cable is not touched to the backlight housing directly. Further, joint stress between the cable and lamp decreases mechanical shock and vibration drastically because this new lamp socket works as a mechanical cushion. Therefore, LCD backlight using this new lamp socket becomes more reliable than the current LCD backlight.
