Abstract

Disclosed is a improved frame area of the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). Fig. 1 shows the current design of LCD module. Clearance between the lamp and the lightguide is "b", and clearances between the lamp and the frame (lamp-holder) are "c", "d" and "e". Thickness of the lamp-holder is "f". The length of the portion of the frame for holding lightguide is "g".

      Disclosed is a improved frame area of the Liquid Crystal
Display (LCD).  Fig. 1 shows the current design of LCD module.
Clearance between the lamp and the lightguide is "b", and clearances
between the lamp and the frame (lamp-holder) are "c", "d" and "e".
Thickness of the lamp-holder is "f".  The length of the portion of
the frame for holding lightguide is "g".

      Fig. 2 shows the improved frame area.  The end portion of the
lightguide is formed to be beveled shape.  If clearance "b" and "B"
are same distance then the distance of the frame area "A" is smaller
than "a".  Further, it is no need to change other dimensions.  Fig. 2
shows two other similar examples.

      According to the improved design, frame area of the LCD is
decreased and display area is relatively expanded.
