Method and Program for Switching a Multi-Mode Communications Module

Disclosed is a method and program for switching the modes of a
multi-mode communications module.  The communications module is
capable of operating in a single mode at any given time.  The
possible modes are:
  1.  Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) Data
  2.  PSTN Voice
  3.  Advanced Mobile Phone System (AMPS) Data
  4.  AMPS Voice (more commonly known as a Cellular Phone)
  5.  Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD)
  6.  Idle

The Figure depicts the icon based screen through which a user
selects the desired operating mode for the device.  The icons clearly
depict the associated modes.  A selection is made by clicking on the
desired icon.  The program then issues the associated commands to
command the communications module into the corresponding mode.  For
example, to use the communications module as a cellular phone, the
cellular phone icon is selected.
