Abstract

Pesticidal mixtures of propanenitriles with other fungicides and pesticides are disclosed. Fungicidal compounds are often applied in conjunction with one or more other fungicides to control a wider variety of undesirable diseases and with other pesticides in order to control numerous pests within the same application. Typical pesticides include insecticides, nematocides, miticides, arthropodicides, bactericides or combinations thereof.

Fungicidal Mixtures

Triazole propanenitriles, as described in U.S. 5,087,635, are useful as fungicides and include a compound otherwise known as fenbuconazole.  Such propanenitriles include alpha-aryl-alpha-phenylethyl-1H-1,2,4-triazole-1-propane-nitriles of the formula:

wherein z is ethylene (-CH2CH2-), ethenylene (-CH=CH-), ethynylene (-C=C-), or isopropylene, or halogenated ethylene, ethenylene or isopropylene; Ar is an optionally substituted aromatic ring with optional substituents being halogen, alkyl or alkenyl optionally substituted with up to 3 halogens, hydroxy, alkoxy, alkenyloxy, phenyl optionally substituted with up to 2 halogens, cyano, amino, monoalkylamino, dialkylaminio, -C(OH), -C(O)NR1R2 wherein R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen or alkyl, and alkylsulfonyl; R is hydrogen or optionally substituted phenyl; and agronomically acceptable enantiomorphs, acid additions salts and metal complexes thereof.

Triazole propanenitriles can also be combined with other fungicides to form fungicidal mixtures and synergistic mixtures thereof.  Fungicidal compounds are often applied in conjunction with one or more other fungicides to control a wider variety of undesirable diseases. When used in conjunction with other fungicide(s), triazole propanenitriles can be formulated with the other fungicide(s), tank mixed with the other fungicide(s) or applied sequentially with the other fungicide(s).
