In modular structures for housing computer components such as disk files it is customary to mount the files in plastic file carriers. Positioning the carrier within the required tolerances so that the mating connectors on carrier and enclosure are aligned requires accurate guidance and latching.

Shown in Figs. 1 and 2 is a structure which effectively meets these requirements. The carriers 1 locate into a rectangular enclosure the floor 2 and roof (not shown) of which have integrally formed guides 3 and latches 4 which protrude into the enclosure. These features are formed in one operation on each part and their position is therefore closely controlled; they provide parallel edges against which the carrier locates and is guided towards its connector

Each carrier has a lever 6 (Fig. 2) which secures the device in place and provides a method by which to remove the device from the enclosure. The lever 6 is formed with a lug 7 which cooperates with a projection 9 and aperture 10, integrally punched and formed into the floor of the enclosure, whose position is closely controlled by being formed in the same operation as the guides.
