Disclosed is the Version Equalizer Program for Server/Client that does set the version of the client program to the version of the server program which the user of the client selects to log in. The client program is replaced as not only version-up but version-down if necessary.

Version Equalizer Program for Server/Client

      Disclosed is the Version Equalizer Program for Server/Client
that does set the version of the client program to the version of the
server program which the user of the client selects to log in.  The
client program is replaced as not only version-up but version-down if
necessary.

      The Figure shows the sample sequence of "Version Equalizer
Program for Server/Client" Assuming that the Server Program (SP)
resides in the server machine while the Client Program (CP) and the
file transfer program resides in the client machine.
  1.  The client program logs in with the version information of the
       client.
  2.  The server program checks the version of the client program and
       the File Transfer Program (FTP) whether the version
equalization
       is necessary.
  3.  And the server program notifies the client program which files
       should be updated or the version of the server.
  4.  If the client program need not to be updated, the client
program
       takes no action for the version-equalization.
  5.  The client program gets the new file transfer program if
       necessary.
  6.  The client program kicks the file transfer program.
  7.  The current client program terminates.
  8.  The file transfer program gets the necessary files from the
       server machine and deletes the unnecessary files.
