Dynamic Load/Unload Suspension Assembly with Load Beam Chamfer

      Disclosed is a suspension assembly design used in Hard Disk
Drives with Load/Unload technology.

      Generally, a Load/Unload tab is so designed to perform Dynamic
Load/Unload operation in Hard Disk Drives (HDDs).  But, it restricts
the freedom of the design.

      Therefore, if Dynamic Load/Unload technology can be achieved
using current Head Suspension Assembly (HSA) design, it will widen
the degree of the freedom of the design.

      The problem of using the current HSA with Ramp Load/Unload
technology is that the edge of the flexure hits the Ramp.  The edge
of the flexure is sharp enough to scrape the Ramp itself and it would
become contamination.

      To solve this problem, a new Load Beam design is proposed.  In
order to prevent the edge of the flexure from touching the Ramp, two
pieces of press forming on the Load Beam were made (Figs. 1 and 2).

      It is recommended that the height of those two pieces of the
press forming be taller than the thickness of the flexure.  Also, by
making those two pieces of the press forming cylindrically, friction
force between the Ramp and them can be reduced.
