Virtual Machine Service Machine

Disclosed is service machine allowing the use of Virtual
Machine (VM) computer conferencing by a system foreign to VM.

The Figure is a block diagram showing the presently disclosed
service machine 1 operating between a system 2 having VM capabilities
and a TOOLSRUN conference service machine 3.  A conventional tool
sends notes 4 from a foreign system 5 to VM within system 2.  The
service machine 1 receives a note formatted with only a one-line tag,
and sends the note to the TOOLSRUN conference service machine 3
within a file reformatted in a manner that the service machine 3 can
understand.  Service machine 1 is configured with secure
authorization and distribution lists and with audit tracking.

In particular, presently disclosed service machine 1 is used in
the transmission of appends, checking notes from foreign system 5 to
see if each note has a TOFORUM key.  If it does, the authorization
list is checked.  If authorization is present, service machine 1
formats and arranges the note for TOOLSRUN acceptance, and sends the
note to TOOLSRUN service machine 3.  In the transmission of
subscription information from TOOLSRUN service machine 3, service
machine 1 checks the distribution list, formats a distribution list
for foreign system 5 on the note, and sends the information to the
foreign system.
