Latch Mechanism of Printer

Disclosed is a latch mechanism of printer which has a
preventive mechanism of miss printing.  If latch levers latch
incompletely, they will interfere with a cover closing.  Therefore, a
print motion will not start because of the cover closed incompletely.

Figs. 1 and 2 shows the outline of the printer.  The frame of
the print unit 1 can be swung up to remove jammed papers or to change
a ribbon cartridge.  It is fixed to the base frame 2 by latch levers
3.

Fig. 3 shows an enlarged Figure of the latch.  When the latch
levers latch incompletely, as the top edges of the levers 3a
interfere
with the side wall of the cover 4, the cover cannot be close and the
print motion cannot start.  In this case, as an interlocking switch
of
the cover is functioning, the print motion cannot start.  Therefore,
a miss printing is prevented.
