Abstract

Disclosed is a library of Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) for for Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) and and AT(IDE:Integrated Drive Electronics) device using common front end of line. This library is changed its characteristic by back end of line. By this library, only one front end of line is required for SCSI and AT device and decrease a develop and manufacturing cost and also reduce a turn around time.

Common Front End of Line for AT and Small Computer System Interface
Driver

Disclosed is a library of Application Specific Integrated
Circuit (ASIC) for for Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) and and
AT(IDE:Integrated Drive Electronics) device using common front end of
line.  This library is changed its characteristic by back end of
line.  By this library, only one front end of line is required for
SCSI and AT device and decrease a develop and manufacturing cost and
also reduce a turn around time.

The Figure shows the method for change character.  By adding
WIRE1 and WIRE2, output of AND becomes low and TR1 turn off.  Then
this tri-state library becomes open drain type library.  Furthermore,
TR2 and TR3 is parallel-connected to increase the sink current to
meet the SCSI 48mA sink current.

This method can be applied for a device which is used in both
SCSI and AT interface such as hard disk controller, CD-ROM device,
magnet optical device, etc.
