Multi-Function Pointing Device for Computer Aided Design Operators

      Disclosed is a pointing device which can be used as not only
tablet, but also Light Program Function Keyboard (LPFK).  It provides
operators with quick interactions using a Computer Aided Design (CAD)
application and improves their productivity.

      A Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) touch panel is attached to this
device.  It is logically divided into some areas.  Each button of
LPFK is mapped into one of these areas.  Operators are able to select
functions an application provided by touching one of these areas.

      The LCD touch panel on this device can be programmable.  That
is, the layout of LPFK buttons on this panel can be customized.
