Practical Fabrication Method for Four-Domain Twisted Nematic Liquid
Crystal Display

      Disclosed is a fabrication method for producing a Four-Domain
(FD) Twisted Nematic Liquid Crystal Display (TN LCD); the method is a
combination of techniques of double rubbing Two-Domain (TD) TN [1]
and UV-type TDTN (2,3).

      Figs. 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 show examples of double-rubbing
directions and Ultra Violet (UV) exposure patterns for each
sub-pixels of both Thin Film Transistor (TFT) and Color Filter (CF)
substrates.  Figs.  2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 show obtained four different
optimal viewing direction which correspond to Figs. 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9,
respectively.
