      Disclosed is a method for rotary type Servo Track Writers (STW)
used for Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) to manufacture plural models with
one
STW.  The method utilizes plural push rods of uneven lengths attached
to
the rotary actuator of the STW.

      The STW is the most expensive tooling for manufacturing a HDD.
So utilzing one STW for maximum HDD models is a important factor.  In
HDDs, it is very common to de-populate the number of disks and heads
to the appropriate recording capacity for the customer.  In such a
case, fixturing of the HDD to the STW is impacted so that the two
models cannot be Servo Track Written at the same STW.  By using this
method, multiple models can be servo written with one STW.

      The Figure shows the push rod and the actuator of the STW.  The
longer push rod accesses the lower model, and the shorter one is for
the taller model.  The rotary actuator is used with a offset angle
for the two models.
