Software Distribution by CD-ROM Linked with Network

Disclosed is an effective Software distribution method using
CD-ROM and Network.

A CD-ROM provides huge capacity with low cost on replication.
The Network provides a way to get up to date information with high
cost.  By combining these two media and platform, this method
provides very effective way to distribute software to the customer.

The Figure shows mechanism of this distribution system.  Using
CD ROM(1), Software is encrypted and distributed to the end user.
User will start installation of contained software by connecting
BBS(2)(bulletin board system) and get decryption key.  Before giving
key, BBS will check user's account information and validated.  If it
is valid account, key will be automatically downloaded and software
will be decrypted on the PC(3)(personal computer).  Using BBS, not
only providing key, but also, updated information will be downloaded,
such as updated price or Software product information.  In case
something wrong happens, user still can have a way to ask solution by
calling customer support center(4).

This method provides compensation of each CD-ROM and Network's
weakness and establish much better user support.
