Battery Capacity Correction Method

      Disclosed is a system for calculating battery capacity with
battery voltage correction.  It has means to measure the value of
charging and discharging current, and has ability to calculate
battery capacity.  It also has discharge current-capacity tables
inside the processing unit.

      The following table shows an example of discharge
current-capacity table at 8.0 volts battery output.

      When output voltage of the battery reaches the correction
voltage 8.0V, discharge current will be measured.  In case the value
of discharge current becomes 25mA, battery remaining capacity will be
corrected to 650mA by force.  It is to minimize the calculation
error.  This system can have some correction tables in each voltage.
These tables may have other parameters such as temperature.

      Especially, this method is effective with suspend or sleep mode
since accuracy of discharge current isn't good with such kinds of
light load.  This method is applicable to the system without high
accuracy current sense circuit.
