Sheet Metal Covered Seal

Disclosed is a Cover Seal which is used in a hard disk drive.
There are many kinds of Cover Seals which are used in hard disk
drives; one of them is made by rubber and sheet metal.  Fig. 1 shows
the structure of this seal.

This kind of seal has some problems as listed below:
  1.  The thickness of sheet metal is very thin.  Because of this,
the
sheet metal damages the parts which are in the hard disk.
  2.  Safety problems occur if the sheet metal is just out from the
       hard disk outline.
  3.  Since this seal needs the mark to mount the hard disk, the
sheet
metal covered seal solves this problem.

The structure of this seal is compared with the of normal type
seal in Fig. 2.  The unique point of this seal is that the rubber
covers sheet metal partly.  The normal type seal does not cover the
sheet metal.  It is impossible to cover the sheet metal completely;
however, it is possible to partially cover it.  The problems which
were discribed are solve using this method.

Following is an example of this application:
  1.  Fig. 3 shows the application of this seal in 3.5" hard disk.
In
this case, the seal must be on the flex cable because of
manufacturing requirements.  Consequently, the sheet metal of
this seal touchs the flex cable when the seal is mounted on
the
hard disk.  It is possible that the flex cable can be damaged
