Multi Zone/Head Digital Analog Convertor Compensation during Low
Round Per Minute Burnishing

      Disclosed is the method to make head stay around the target
location in case of Low RPM Burnishing, which makes spindle rotate at
slower Round Per Minute (RPM) during Hard Disk Drive (HDD) error
recovery process.

      A flow chart of Low RPM Burnishing with Multi zone/head Digital
Analog Convertor (DAC) compensation is shown in Fig. 1.  The item
marked with (*) are the new function.  Fig. 2 is the tables for Voice
Coil Motor (VCM) DAC compensation.  The compensation value is is
added to the averaged VCM DAC during spin-down.  Fig. 3 shows the
trend of head position error during spin-down.  Dot line shows the
previous Low RPM burnishing case, *-line shows this new method case.
