Method for Connector Separation in a Two Card Book Package

A device to separate two cards that are connected by an edge
connector in a book package is disclosed.

Fig. 1 shows a book package assembly with an Input/Output
Processor (IOP) card 1 and Input/Output Adapter (IOA) card 2 joined
with an edge connector 3.  Rail 4 pivots open to allow the removal of
the IOA card 2.  The card separator device 6 uses a cam feature 5 to
separate the IOA card 2 from the IOP card 1.  The book cover is shown
removed for clarity.

Fig. 2 shows the card separation device rotated to separate the
cards.  A tool such as a screwdriver is used to rotate the separation
device.  Rotating the separation device as shown by the curved arrow
in Fig. 2 moves the IOA card in the direction shown.  This movement
disconnects the connector 3 to allow easy removal of the IOA card 2
from the book package.
