Business Conferencing

A computer-based total conference management system is
disclosed.  This is a server-based system with clients used for the
actual conference.

A conference management system has been developed which integrates
the following functions:
  o  Conference scheduling
o  Schedule resources for a conference (VCRs, videoconferencing
      equipment, etc.)
o  Distribute notifications for the conference to invitees and
interested parties and post them to calendars
o  Provide a work area to prepare multimedia objects called
exhibits to be used during the conference
o  Start up and manage the conference
o  Enable a shared workspace for conference participants to edit
and
see others marks made on objects during the conference
o  Enable a video window for participants to see/hear each other
o  Allow minute taking by the person who called the meeting
(official minutes) and by all others attending (personal
minutes)
o  Distribute the official minutes via a network
o  Display minutes received from a conference
o  Keep a list of all conferences held

All conference exhibits, work areas, minutes frames, and
conference lists are secured by the server security model.
