Calibration Kit

      Disclosed is a calibration kit consisting of a set of one or
more Radiofrequency Identification (RFID) tags, each tag having a
previously calibrated set of characteristics:  range; data content;
speed of transmission; and providing means for the calibration of
RFID base stations, diagnostic apparatus and manufacturing equipment.

      The calibration set makes it possible to check and calibrate
the functioning of the base station and to confirm the proper
operation of the base station.  Tags with deliberately introduced
faults may be used to check diagnostic equipment.  The calibration
kit also provides a standard against which the operation of newly
manufactured tags may checked.
