Reel-to-Reel X-Ray Screener

      Disclosed is a system for screening components that are
contained in a manufacturing packaging known as tape and reel.  The
Reel-to-Reel X-ray screener is automated and more effecient then any
current system to date.

      The method used before the invention of the Reel-to-Reel X-ray
Screener was quite time consuming.  It required screening one
component at a time in an X-ray machine.

      Electrical components are a vital part of all types of
computers.  Tens of thousands of these components are used from a
variety of supply sources.  Frequently during the manufacture of
these components serious flaws may occur.

      To prevent bad or defective components from being used in
manufacturing circuit boards an X-Ray Screen is performed.  Many of
these components come in packaging called Tape and Reel.  This is
ideal in the computer card building process.  Tape and Reel packaging
is a continuous tractor feed tape that is wound on a large reel.
There can be 100 to 50000 components taped on each tractor feed tape
(reel).

      Since the industry has used this form of packaging for quite a
few years, it was understandable that a major change in the
industrial standard of packaging would not occur.  There was a
definite need to design a screening system that would be adaptable to
the tape and reel  package.
