Screen by Sensing Input Signal Timing

      Disclosed is a method for Auto-refresh with displaying Status
message on Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screen by sensing Input
signal timing.

      When Input signal (HSYNC, VSYNC, DSPTMG, DOTCLK) timing
deviates from VGA (or SVGA/XGA) mode timing, this method brings
Auto-refresh mode (running with internal timing generated in LCD) and
also displays a Status message about Input timing error on an LCD
screen by sensing Input signal timing error.

      Then, this Status message makes User to know How Input signal
timing is bad and also whether if LCD is good or bad.

      Fig. 1 is the BLOCK Diagram used this method.  In detail, at
Block (a) which functions as Input Video Signal timing Check circuit,
Input Video Signal timing is checked by comparing with Input Video
signal timing Criteria (refer to the Table, Fig. 3).

      Then the result (ex., 'VGA Mode', 'SVGA Mode', 'NOT VGA Mode',
'NOT SVGA Mode', DOTCLK timing NG, ....., ) from Block (a) is input
into Block (b) which functions as Input Video Signal timing Status
Message generator.

      When Input signal (HSYNC, VSYNC, DSPTMG, DOTCLK) timing
deviates from VGA (or SVGA/XGA) mode timing, the Block (b) brings
Auto-refresh mode (running with internal timing made by reference
clock generated inside LCD) and also brings Status Message about
