Automatic Recognition of Universal Resource Locator and Launching
of Web Browser

A method is disclosed that provides users with the ability
to launch a web explorer from within another software product without
having to go through the steps of selecting a Universal Resource
Locator (URL) and then switching to the web explorer (1).

Once a user sees an URL, (2a) the user can swipe the page
information with the mouse (or keyboard equivalent - "Ctrl+>").

(3a) The user could then use MB2 to get a context menu.  The
context menu will provide the user with the ability to start their
favorite web explorer.

      (4) By launching their favorite web explorer on the menu, (5)
the user is actually copying the highlighted text to the clipboard
(through (DDE).  (6) The daemon is started (if not already) and (7)
the daemon then passes the clipboard information to the web explorer
program as a parameter.  (8) The web explorer program is launched and
displays the associated URL.

NOTE:  Launching is based on the requirement that the web
explorer type program accepts an URL address as a parameter.
