Multiaxial Electromagnetic Interference Gasket Retention System

      An Electromagnetic Compatability (EMC) gasket retention system
is disclosed which allows electronic components to contact the face
of EMC "V-section" gasket by sliding along the gasket's axis without
tearing or peeling the gasket.

      As shown in the Figure, the ends of the horizontal "V"-gasket
1 are clamped down by the retention brackets 2 in order to provide
adequate lead-in 3 for components to slide 4 along the gasket's
surface.  This lead-in keeps the component from catching the end of
the gasket, causing damage.   Also, the base of the vertical
"V"-gasket 5 is secured by the same brackets 2 so that the gasket
will not peel due  to a component sliding 6 and catching the leading
edge of the gasket 7.
