Abstract

The portable Personal Computer (PC)-system has a plurality of standardized interfaces which can be used to exchange system units or to add additional system units to the portable PC-system. The standardized interfaces feature a power management which minimizes the power consumption of the system significantly. Thereby, the recharge intervals of the battery are expanded. It is a particularly beneficial feature of the portable PC-system that the power management is not only integrated in the PC as such but that it is also integrated in the standardized interfaces which are incorporated in the mechanical case of the system.

Power-Management for a Portable Personal Computer-System Having Plurality
of Standardized Interfaces

The portable Personal Computer (PC)-system has a plurality of
standardized interfaces which can be used to exchange system units or
to add additional system units to the portable PC-system.  The
standardized interfaces feature a power management which minimizes
the power consumption of the system significantly.  Thereby, the
recharge intervals of the battery are expanded.  It is a particularly
beneficial feature of the portable PC-system that the power
management is not only integrated in the PC as such but that it is
also integrated  in the standardized interfaces which are
incorporated in the mechanical  case of the system.
